"I faced the wing side as well, and found it to (as expected) dramatically stiffen the wing in torsion. The weight penalty is small, and the work is little more than that required to face the flaperon.
Try this: take a cardboard tube from a used roll of toilet paper or paper towels. Try twisting the tube and note its torsional rigidity (but don't crush it or twist it to failure). Now use scissors or a hobby knife to cut longitudinally through one side of the tube, and twist it again. The rigidity is all but gone.
The wing side facing encloses a relatively large area, so even though the cloth is relatively weak layer of fiberglass, the gain in rigidity is substantial. The foam helps a lot, too, but it's still a significant effect. Try twisting your wing before and after facing it, and see for yourself." Si, molto interessante e anche abbastanza semplice.
Ma il modello di Max cui allude Simone era forse quello con l'ala in carbonio e decorazioni vagamente optical sul ventre?
