I got my BNF kit this afternoon and have now had 4 flights, two indoors, and two outdoors (~5 knot winds).

In short, this is the most impressive micro heli I have ever flown!

I bound it to my DX7 (with the recommended DX7 settings in the manual) and it worked perfectly, right off the bat, no trims needed. Because it's FBL you need to take-off fairly quickly and try to avoid any cyclic inputs or the heli may try to tip-over.

My first 2 flights were indoors, off my pool table. I found the heli very responsive, but also very solid (point and shoot). It does not have the same self stabilising features of the msr (or my solo pro v2) so guys who fly these are in for a BIG surprise imho!

My next 2 flights were outdoors, ~5 knot winds and mostly over hard driveway and road, since I have a very small, steep yard). I found the heli tracked very well with very little pitch-up but it did seem to bounce up and down quite a bit. I then tried the included FFF blades. These are funny looking things with that have a molded plastic bullet ~25% from the blade root that sticks out ~10mm in front of the leading edge (looks like a missle launcher). Strange as they looked, they did seem to help curb the bounce a little. In both cases this little heli performed way better than my FP solo pro or msr imho.

While I have not tried any acobatics yet I'm sure it's capable. I'll try to give it a good go at my GCMFC field this weekend and see what it can do. Over long grass, with throttle hold applied, I don't think that there will be any damage.

The BNF kit includes (besides what you can already see in it's specs) a little screw driver, set of spare plastic swash links, a few canopy o-rings, and a spare tail blade. It also includes a DVD that goes over a lot over things, including re-builds (which look pretty simple, btw).

I see that MF now has most spares in stock and they look pretty inexpensive to me.

So far, this is the best pre-order thing I have ever bought. I think that E-Flite are to be commended for this product and, if and when, a Trex 100 3G comes along, I think it's going to be pretty hard to beat this heli (esp. if you want to bind it to a Spektrum Tx).

My only complaint is that the flight battery is a bit hard to insert and take out. I filed the edges of mine a bit and it seems a bit easier now.

Cheers,
TomC
